Emi

 

Emi (vocals)


In 2004 Emi completed a 4 year BA in vocal performance at Columbia College Chicago after transferring her sophmore year from Berklee College of Music.  Emi’s roots are in folk and bluegrass, however her debut album Bluestar Café is a hybrid of pop and folk and was chosen by Life Fitness, a multi national corporation to help promote their latest line of equipment and was distributed worldwide.  Currently Emi works as a vocal tutor and continues to work on her own material.

 

 

 

Dan

Dan (keys)

 

Dan has been playing round York for a number of years and enjoys playing a variety of different styles. He currently is a member of the Funk Jazz bands Bluephunk and he also enjoys playing jazz in a duo, trio or small group setting. Dan's influences include Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock and Brad Mehldau amongst other keyboard greats.

 

 

 

 

 

CraigCraig (drums)

 

For the last ten years Craig has spent time in various bands playing everything from big band to hard rock and was the permanent drummer for British guitar virtuoso Alan Williams.  Most recently he has begun work as a drum tutor for Hull music services and opened a studio in York.  In addition he was recently added to the list of artists that endorse the Roland V Drums series.

 

 

RayRay (bass guitar)

 

Ray has worked for a number of years in and around the London Area as well as travelling around the South coast and Midlands before moving to the north. During this time Ray did some recordings and radio work and supported  the likes of The Dave Clarke 5 and Tony Rivers and the Castaways (later to become Harmony Grass) as well as Headlining in his own band.  When he moved north he started on the Northern Club Circuit with a trio called Midnite Hour supporting recording artists like The Searchers and The Jets.  Since then he has been working in the local area with the York legend Steve Cassidy and the Escorts.

 

 

BenBen (guitar)

 

Ben currently studies music at York St. John University playing in the University Jazz Orchestra and has played in many musical situations in a variety of styles ranging from contemporary rock to funk/fusion.  Ben also belongs to the Jazz and Rock Academy and is part of the York St. John University Chamber Choir. He also plays bass in a jazz quintet at York University and is a 'stand in' guitarist for the Jazz funk bands Bluephunk and Funkate.
